University Audit (UCF's internal audit department) is offering one paid fraud investigator internship. Interns will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience in fraud prevention, detection, and investigation. If desired, an option for academic credit is also available for the internship. These credits are exempt from the excess credit hour calculation, and you will not be assessed excess tuition and fees.
Duties and assignments will vary depending on the fraud awareness initiatives and investigations currently in progress during the internship. At a minimum, you will learn how an investigative function operates within an organization, research techniques, proper documentation of investigation fieldwork and results, and gain an understanding of the recommendations identified during investigations for improving internal controls, processes, and corrective action.
Assignments may include evaluating and updating University Audit’s investigation guidebook, taking fraud training via webinars, updating investigation demographics, reviewing closed investigations, gathering background information on subjects and witnesses, assisting in investigative work, drafting recommendations, and preparing fraud awareness materials.
