University Audit

Investigations

University Audit is the official contact for persons reporting suspected fraud and oversees all investigations into allegations of falsification, misappropriation, fiscal irregularities, and other wrong doing, in compliance with the UCF Policy 2-800, Fraud Prevention and Detection. Reports of fraud or other wrongdoing can be made anonymously.

The mission of the Investigations Section is to investigate allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, and other related wrongdoing. This work will be performed independently, objectively and in accordance with investigation standards to determine if these allegations are substantiated. In addition, effort will be made to identify and recommend internal control and process improvements to reduce the risk of future fraudulent and improper activities through a suggested combination of preventative, detective, and corrective risk mitigation activities. The Investigations Section also serves as the university’s point of contact for the design and oversight of the university’s antifraud framework, strategies, and training.

Investigations are performed in accordance with Quality Standards for Investigations found within the Principles and Standards for Offices of Inspector General (Green Book) as published by the Association of Inspectors General. Depending on the nature of the allegations, we may coordinate investigative efforts with other areas such as Compliance and Ethics, Human Resources, and General Counsel. If we determine there is sufficient evidence of probable criminal activity, we will refer the case to the university police department.
